Two BBC radio presenters have been charged with sex offences involving children. The charges relate to four children, aged between 11 and 15, between 1996 and 1999.
Tony and Julie Wadsworth, who have worked with BBC's local stations in Leicester and Birmingham, are due to appear in a court in Warwickshire this coming May.
Tony Wadsworth (68) faces charges of five counts of indicting a boy under the age of 16 to an act of gross indecency. His wife Julie (58) has been charged with seven counts of inciting a boy under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency.
According to police, both will also face one count of committing an act of outraging public decency. The pair will remain off air.
In a statement, BBC said:
"We understand the charges do not relate to their conduct or position at the BBC. This is an ongoing criminal process and we cannot comment further."
