To mark the anniversary of Back to the Future II, Michael J Fox has modeled the first self-lacing Nike shoes.
Yesterday events took place in Ireland and around the world to mark the day that his Marty McFly character and Doc Brown went to the year 2015 from 1985.
Even An Garda Síochana got in on the action - and actor Christopher Lloyd gave people a special message to mark the occasion.
The film actually got a fair bit right in regards to the future: videoconferencing, robotic drones, using fingerprints to pay and electric cars (if not proper flying ones) are all a reality.
While another aspect of the film was self-lacing shoes, which actor Michael J Fox tried on for the first time:
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
