At least 100 people are now known to have died, while hundreds more have been injured in an earthquake in the Chinese province of Sichuan. 

The 6.6 magnitude quake toppled buildings and blocked roads leading into the region, raising fears about the effectiveness of relief efforts. 

2,000 Chinese troops are being dispatched to the region to set up a rescue headquarters.
