Five people have appeared in court accused of various crimes arising out of the investigation into Ashling Murphy’s murder.

The 23-year-old primary school teacher was killed along the Grand Canal in Tullamore on the 12th of January last year.

Jozef Puska, of Lynally Grove in Mucklagh, Co Offaly, is due to stand trial for Ashling Murphy’s in October.

Three of the five people who appeared in court today are accused of withholding information from the investigation team on dates between the day Ashling was killed and January 27th last year.

They are 35-year-old Lubomir Puska, 34-year-old Marek Puska, and Lucia Istokova, who is also 34.

The charges are alleged to have happened at Tullamore

The other two: 33-year-old Jozefina Grundzova and 38-year-old Viera Gazoiva are accused of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Ashling’s alleged killer.

Their addresses cannot be revealed, by court order.

All five were granted bail today and are due back before Tullamore District Court next month.
