The Arts Minister Heather Humphreys says she is happy with the backlash against the official 1916 commemoration video, because it started a conversation.
The Ireland 2016 makes no mention of the Easter Rising or any of its leaders. Instead it has clips of people including Queen Elizabeth II, Bono and Bob Geldof.
It also emerged that the government used Google Translate for its official 1916 website.
The Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs said the page contained holding text, which has now been corrected.
Ms Humphreys says she wants more people to give their views on the government's commemorations.
