Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden have been three key figures in the news over the last few years - and now there is a campaign to create bronze statues of the trio.

On the Kickstarter page for the project, the team behind 'Anything to say?' write that "it is not a simple homage to individuals, but to courage and to the importance of freedom of speech and information."

The finished project will feature life-sized statues of Assange, Manning and Snowden lined up beside each other. Artist Davide Dormino plans for the statues to be standing on chairs, explaining "the chair has a double meaning. It can be comfortable, but it can also be a pedestal to rise higher, to get a better view, to learn more. They all chose to get up on the chairs of courage."

The finished artwork will also feature a fourth empty chair, allowing members of the public to "climb onto it, however uncomfortable and vulnerable, and change our point of view."

The campaign is looking for £100,000 (around €126,000) and, as of writing, has raised just shy of £20,000. 'Anything to say?' write that all funds will be put towards "the fusion of bronze, as well as the transport and installation of the artwork".

The finished project is intended to travel from country to country, where it will be put on public display.
