Gardai in Limerick investigating the murder of Brian Fitzgerald in Limerick 11 years ago have arrested a man.

The man who is in his mid-30s was arrested in Limerick City this morning.

He is being detained in Henry Street garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Brian Fitzgerald was shot a number of times close to this home at Brookhaven Walk, Mill Road in Corbally on November 29th of 2002 at around 3.50am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

3 men have been convicted in relation to the shooting.
