The army bomb disposal have made safe a hand grenade found in the O'Hanlon Park area of Dundalk this evening.

The unit were called to the area this afternoon after the discovery was made in an open area.

The team arrived on scene at 7.00 p.m. The grenade was made safe at the scene, removed to a secure military location and destroyed by controlled explosion.
