A school in Armagh has been hit by tragedy for the second time, after a 16-year-old boy passed away just days after a fellow student died following a hit and run incident.
The City of Armagh High School has been left 'deeply saddened' by the sudden loss of John Irwin, who died in Craigavon Area hospital after collapsing at school on Tuesday afternoon, according to media in Belfast.
His passing, tragically coincides with the recent loss of Lesley-Ann McCarragher, a former head girl who died following injuries she sustained in a hit and run accident.
The Armagh school posted a Facebook tribute message for John Irwin, a Year 12 student, who died just days after celebrating his 16th birthday.
"We at City of Armagh High School mourn the sudden death of John Irwin, one of our year 12 pupils. John was a much loved and highly respected member of our school community who will be missed by all of us."
"We are deeply saddened by this great loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family at this tragic time, we extend to them our sincerest sympathy and support."
