Protesters unhappy with the Government's proposed abortion legislation took to the streets of the capital today.
Gardaí say 'Vigil for Life' drew crowds of between 20 and 30 thousand people.
The pro-life protesters are opposing 'The Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill' which seeks to legalise abortion where there is a threat to the life of the mother .
However, pro-choice groups claim the new laws will help save women's lives
The legislation is expected to be enacted before the Dáil summer break.
Fianna Fáil has indicated their TDs and senators will be allowed a free vote on the bill after a parliamentary party meeting could not reach consensus on the issue, but the Taoiseach Enda Kenny has indicated that Fine Gael members will not be allowed to vote with their conscience.
