One of the two teenage girls critically injured in a high school shooting in the US on Friday has died.

14 year-old Gia Soriano was one of several people Jaylen Fryberg fired at in the cafeteria of the school in Washington state.

He killed another girl before turning the gun on himself.

Three others remain in a serious condition.

Jaylen Fryberg opened fire in a cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, about 35 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
