Switzerland has agreed to accept our new passport card.

That means the wallet-sized ID will now get Irish citizens into 31 countries around the world.

Almost 7,000 people have applied for the card since it was launched earlier this month.

Advertisement

It costs €35 and lasts a maximum of five years, but only people who already have a valid passport can apply.
