The man accused of assaulting and imprisoning a Polish man in Athlone has been heckled and jeered on his way into court.
The Body of 23-year-old Patryk Krupa was taken from the River Shannon near Athlone on Friday night.
Today 32 year old Lezek Scychulec with an address at 14 Drinan, Ballymahon, Co Longford, appeared at a special sitting of the District Court in Athlone.
Mr Scychulec was also charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to Ewa Krasinska at Athlone Garda Station yesterday.
He's been remanded in custody and will appear again at a sitting of the District Court in Cloverhill on June 27th.
Another man remains in custody this evening in relation to the death - two other men arrested have been released without charge.
