The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has said any backlog of Dublin Airport flights from an earlier radar issue should be cleared today.

The IAA has confirmed the radar outage affected service at the airport from 8.20am until 9.35am.

It meant that no flights were landing or taking off from the airport at that time.

Dublin Airport has said while operations have resumed, there will be knock on delays due to the outage.

Passengers are being advised to check with their airline.

The airport has also said if a flight was delayed due to the radar issue, people will not be charged extra for parking.

In a statement, the IAA said: "The cause of the issue was identified by the IAA and a full air traffic control service has been restored.

"The IAA is satisfied that the resulting backlog will be cleared today and passengers are advised to check with their airline for details of departures and arrivals."

It also said it "regrets" any disruption to flights.

"Decisions to restrict operations are taken solely to assure the safety of the travelling public and flight crew", it added.
