Aldi has announced it is to create 450 new jobs immediately across the country.

Positions include Area Manager, Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager and Store Assistants.

Aldi currently employs almost 2,4000 people in Ireland and Managing Director Aldi Mitchelstown Region, Niall O'Connor said, "We expect to build further on the sustained growth we have achieved in the last few years, opening a further seven stores and hiring an additional 450 employees in 2014.  We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join the Aldi team and contribute to our continued success".

People can apply for the new jobs through the Aldi website or by posting their CV to the Aldi Headquarters in Michelstown, Co. Cork.

The announcement comes on the same day that Laya Healthcare reveal they are to create 50 new jobs in Dublin.
