Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Laragh, Co Wicklow last night.

A couple returned home at about 11:55pm and were confronted by a group of armed masked men.

One of them is thought to have had a shotgun.

The group had arrived at the house earlier and tied up a male employee, before awaiting the return of the couple.

The woman contacted gardaí while the man was confronted by the raiders.

They escaped with a small amount of cash and a mobile phone.

No-one was injured in the incident.
