Adopted people look set to get new rights under new laws that are in the pipeline.
The cabinet is going to discuss a new bill this week which would give as many as 50,000 people the right to their birth certificate for the first time.
According to the Irish Times, the legislation would establish an adoption information register that would be run by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
