The Sinn Féin President says there is no place in society for paramilitary organisations or for displays like at the funeral of Alan Ryan in Dublin last weekend.
A volley of shots was fired at the funeral of the leading member of the Real IRA on Saturday.
This morning more than 200 Gardaí launched ‘Operation Ambience’.
They arrested 15 men and 1 woman at addresses in the capital and in counties Kildare and Meath.
3 imitation firearms, mobile phones, computers and documentation were seized during the raid.
The Sinn Féin President says paramilitary groups and their activity like that displayed at the funeral in Dublin last weekend “should go”.
He says the firing of shots at the gathering on Saturday was wrong.
Gerry Adams says he has no time for groups “masquerading” as the IRA.
