Over the past year, time and again, at least 46 women from all across the United States have come forward with allegations that Bill Cosby, the actor and comedian, sexually assaulted them. Some of the women claim they were drugged, and many of them were still teenagers at the time of the alleged assaults. While the number of women accusing Cosby continues to rise, the 78-year-old star maintains his innocence and denies having done anything wrong.

New York Magazine has just released an interview with 35 of the women who have come forward to accuse Cosby, and the article and the images used have had a huge online impact this morning. The powerful cover photo and video interviews with the women, each one explaining the story of her alleged assault by Cosby, as well as the reality a woman faces when she accuses a beloved comedian of such a crime.

Among the women featured are former models Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickinson, journalist Joan Tarshis, and television writer Sammie Mays, who says that Cosby assaulted her at a 1986 convention. "Bill Cosby, that encounter, that one time, played a major factor in the direction my life took, toward the dark side," says Mays in the interview.

The interview, which has received so much web traffic that it has temporarily brought down the New York Magazine website, gathers the women together in what Tarshis is calling “a sorrowful sisterhood,” where they stand shoulder to shoulder, using each others’ claim as proof that each woman has a story to tell.
