Gardaí have seized over €800,000 worth of cannabis during a number of searches in Tallaght and Blanchardstown in Dublin yesterday.
Officers from a garda burglary response unit were on patrol when they noticed a van acting suspiciously in Tallaght. They stopped and searched the vehicle.
Nine kilos of cannabis thought to be worth €180,000 was found and a man was arrested. He is being held at Tallaght garda station. He is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
During follow up searches in Blanchardstown, investigators worked with other gardaí from Drug Units to uncover 32 kilos of cannabis herb, believed to be worth €640,000.
