Dublin Bus has said there will be a full bus service operating across the city tomorrow. In a statement, the company says it welcomes the invitation from the Labour Court to attend talks tomorrow.

Dublin Bus has also apologised to customers for the inconvenience and disruption caused over the past number of days.

The Labour Court issued the invitation to Dublin Bus management and unions to enter talks aimed at ending the strike action.

Commuters in the capital have been facing a third day of disruption today over the company decision to implement a cost-cutting plan. But Dublin Bus says it will now suspend its €12 million cost-cutting plan to allow the talks to proceed.

The Transport Minister however says new talks aimed at finding a resolution to the dispute at cannot be allowed to continue for weeks.

Minister Leo Varadkar told The Right Hook here on Newstalk the process cannot be allowed to drag out, but says he is confident that all sides are keen to reach a deal.

SIPTU - which is among the unions representing Dublin Bus workers - says it welcomes the intervention to resolve the dispute. It says its members will cease striking on confirmation from the company that it will withdraw the measures while talks take place.

SIPTU Sector Organiser Willie Noone said "We welcome the intervention of the Labour Court as this dispute will only be resolved through negotiation and discussion".

"Our members will cease strike action on confirmation from Dublin Bus that it will withdraw its currently unacceptable cost cutting measures while talks take place".

"The sooner we get this confirmation the sooner our members will return to work and the Dublin Bus fleet can be put back into service".

Meanwhile, intending passengers are advised to monitor the Dublin Bus website and Twitter page for any updates. The strike will not affect Bus Éireann, Irish Rail and Luas services, which are operating with no restrictions.

Passengers should bear in mind however that Dublin Bus tickets are not valid on any other transport carrier.

While The Department of Transport has confirmed that despite the current industrial action at Dublin bus private car drivers may not use the bus lanes as they are operating under normal rules.

These passengers have mixed views on whether Dublin Bus staff are right to strike.
