Four people have been arrested following a seizure of drugs and ammunition in Dublin.

Gardai made the discovery as part of a planned operation when they searched two flats in the South Circular Road-Rialto area of Dublin yesterday.

A quantity of cannabis and heroin -with an estimated street value of €15,000- was seized.

Gardai also discovered a handgun, a sawn off shotgun and ammunition.

Three men - aged in their mid 30's - and a 29 year-old woman were arrested at the scene.

Two of the men are being detained - under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act - at Kevin Street Garda Station. While, the third man and woman -are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act - at Kilmainham and Irishtown Garda Stations.
