Dale Creighton (20) was assaulted by a group of people and died from head injuries at Beaumont Hospital yesterday afternoon.

Detective Garda Kieran McGrath gave evidence of arrest charge and caution to the court this afternoon.

He said Ross Callery was detained at around 10pm on New Year’s Day and made no reply when charged at Tallaght Garda Station under S15 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act 1994.

Judge John O’Neill granted bail on strict conditions despite objections from DG McGrath who told the court that Ross Callery was caught red handed.

He said the 20 year old is captured on CCTV footage of the incident and that gardai had concerns about the possibility of him interfering with prospective prosecution witnesses.

Ross Callery’s next court appearance will be on January 16th.

He is the third person to have been charged in connection with the attack.

Three men are still being held for questioning while a fourth, a 23 year old man, is due to appear in court this afternoon.
