Four radio professionals have been inducted into the PPI Radio Awards Hall of Fame for 2014.
Tony Fenton from Today FM, Paul Claffey from Mid West Radio, Áine Lawlor from RTÉ Radio 1 and BBC Radio Ulster’s Walter Love were inducted into the Hall of Fame today at the BAI offices in Dublin.
Sean Murtagh, PPI Radio Awards Committee Chairperson said, “We are delighted to induct Walter Love, Áine Lawlor, Paul Claffey and Tony Fenton into the PPI Radio Awards Hall of Fame. They rightfully take their place alongside the 14 other great Irish radio luminaries who have been honoured by their peers.”
Previous inductees to the Hall of Fame include Gay Byrne, Mario Rosenstock and Marian Finucane.
Fenton, who has worked in the radio industry for the past 30 years including 10 years at Today Fm, said it was an honour to join the Hall of Fame:
