Over 200 people have been prosecuted in relation to child pornography over the past three years.
According to figures released to Newstalk under Freedom of Information legislation, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) prosecuted 69 people in 2017.
68 people were prosecuted in both 2018 and 2019, bringing the total across the three years to 205.
Eve Farrelly is the executive director of the Child at Risk in Ireland Foundation.
She says child sexual abuse increased during the COVID-19 crisis.
Ms Farrelly explained: "I would have a concern about the impact of this with regards to the pandemic.
"We know during this time children have been locked in their homes, and have had much more online presence... and we know offenders were also locked in their homes.
"I think we're not really seeing the impact of that just yet, and that would be of huge concern for me."
