The news broke this morning that the budget airline Ryanair was falling it a day on the bikini-clad cabin crew calendar it’s sold in aid of charity since 2008.

Which means that the spot where the calendar used to hang on the walls of mechanics’ garages or the models’ grandmothers’ kitchens are now facing a bleak new year.
