GoLoud x Newstalk – Help and FAQs

GoLoud is the new home for Newstalk - your one destination for all the shows and podcasts you love from right across the station along with more Irish stations, podcasts and content in one place.

The Newstalk app is being removed from the app stores. Once this happens, new downloads or reinstalls of the Newstalk app will no longer be possible.

Your existing Newstalk app will remain accessible as normal. However, to access new features, content and future updates, you’ll need to download the GoLoud App, and use the same login details as you have for Newstalk.

What is GoLoud?

GoLoud is the new home for Newstalk – plus even more great Radio, Podcasts and Music you love, all in one place.
The Newstalk app is moving over to GoLoud, so this is where you’ll now find your favourite shows and conversations that count.

Do I need a new account for GoLoud?

No. If you had an account on the Newstalk app, you don’t need to register again.
Your account is valid on GoLoud – just Sign In with the same email and password you used before in the GoLoud app or on GoLoudPlayer.com


How do I sign in to GoLoud with my existing Newstalk account?

  1. Download and open the GoLoud App from your app store. Play Store or App Store
  2. Tap Sign In.
  3. Enter the same email address and password you used in the Newstalk app.
  4. Tap Sign In to start listening.

That’s it – no new registration needed.


I never registered on the Newstalk app. How do I create a GoLoud account?

If you didn’t have a Newstalk account, you can set one up directly in GoLoud:

  1. Open the GoLoud App.
  2. Tap Register Now
  3. Enter your details (name, email, password etc.).
  4. Follow any on‑screen steps to confirm your account.

Once you’re done, you’re ready to listen to Newstalk and much more on GoLoud.


Will my favourites and followed content carry over from the Newstalk app?

Yes.
When you sign in with your existing Newstalk account:

  • Your favourite stations
  • Your followed podcast series

will all carry over into the GoLoud app. So you’ll still see (and hear!) the things you love, just in a new home.


Will my downloaded episodes carry over?

No.
Downloaded episodes will not carry over from the Newstalk app to GoLoud.

Once you’ve signed in to GoLoud, you can quickly re‑download any episodes you want to listen to offline.


I’m not sure if I had a Newstalk account. What should I do?

Try this:

  1. Open the GoLoud app and tap Sign In.
  2. Enter the email address you think you used on the Newstalk app.

If it works, you’re in.
If you’re told there’s no account associated with that email, just go back and create a new account using the Register Now button


I’ve forgotten my password. How can I reset it?

  1. Open GoLoud and tap Sign In.
  2. Enter the email address linked to your account and click Next
  3. Tap Forgot Password? 
  4. Check your email and follow the link to create a new password.

If you don’t see the email, check your spam/junk folder or try again to make sure the address is correct.


Do I have to pay to use GoLoud?

No. You can listen to Newstalk and lots of other great content on GoLoud for free.

GoLoud does contain some great podcasts that have subscription but you do not have to use those features if you don't wish to.


Can I use my GoLoud account on more than one device?

Yes. You can Sign In with the same GoLoud account on multiple devices and on web (for example, your phone and your tablet) using the same email and password.


Is my data safe with GoLoud?

We take your privacy seriously. Your information is used to run and improve the app and personalise your experience.
You can find full details in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use in the GoLoud app or on our website GoLoudPlayer.com.


I’m getting an error when I try to Sign In. What can I do?

Try the following:

  1. Double‑check your email and password (watch out for capital letters and extra spaces).
  2. Use Forgot Password? to reset your password if needed.
  3. Make sure you have a good internet connection.
  4. Update the GoLoud app to the latest version in your app store.
