Newstalk's Commuter Hell is back!

All this week on Newstalk, Ireland’s Commuter Hell 2019 will be getting into the cars, buses, trains, trams and headphones of pedestrians and cyclists as they go about their commute.

We will discuss the issues that matter to commuters, highlights concerns, offer solutions and some fun and levity throughout on air and on social content.

Should there be number plate based restrictions on city traffic

What if you were only allowed to drive in the city in odd dates? That’s exactly what India is looking to do with a new car restriction scheme based on license plate numbers.

Other cities like Sao Paolo, Brazil, have a similar system in place since the 90s. But how does it work? And could something similar be effective in a city like Dublin?
