Tonight's Apple event in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium could be one of the last to take place in San Francisco, as work on Apple's new campus is nearly complete.

New drone footage from Matthew Roberts shows the huge, spaceship-like structure that will become the iPhone manufacturer's headquarters in Cupertino, California has taken shape, with most of the main construction work completed.

The campus will include a 1,000-seat theatre where Apple will host its press events from when it opens. This allows Apple to control the exact date and experience of the unveil, without having to book a convention centre or large arena.

Roberts has been filming the progress of the new campus build since construction began, and has uploaded all the footage in 4K resolution to YouTube.

The new campus is expected to be finished early next year.
