Ireland’s exchequer could bring in an extra €620m per year after the completion of Pfizer's deal to buy botox maker Allergan.

As part of the takeover Pfizer will move its corporate headquarters to Dublin, taking advantage of Ireland's low tax rates.

Such tax inversion deals have been described as "unpatriotic" by US president Barrack Obama.

Candidate for the democratic nomination in the 2016 US presidential election, Hilary Clinton accused the company of using tax loopholes to avoid paying its "fair share."

Michael Noonan says that he no longer expects a ruling from the European Commission's investigation into Apple's tax payments in Ireland before Christmas.

“We have had a signal from commissioner Vestager that they want further information prompted by the information we gave them already. It will probably take two weeks or so to put it together . . . so I don’t foresee a decision before Christmas now,” he said.

Irish politicians have indicated that they will launch an appeal if it is ruled that the EU's tax regulations have been violated.

During his recent visit to Dublin, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that it would support the Government in doing so.

David Drumm has failed in his attempt to have the decision to deny him bankruptcy in the US overturned.

US District Court Judge Leo T Sorokin ruled that there was "no mistake" made in the original ruling.

He said that there was no "error of law" nor any "clearly erroneous finding of fact" - Mr Drumm had appealed the decision, arguing that he was given bad advice by layers and accountants.

British car manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has indicated that it will post a lower than expected profit for 2015.

This is due to new investments, and damage sustained in a blast at China's Tianjin port which destroyed thousands of its cars.

Up to 5,800 cars were damaged or destroyed by the chemical explosion in August.

The company is currently expanding its production facilities in Europe and South America.

For the three months between July and the end of September, JLR recorded a pre-tax loss of £157m (€224m).
