Two Limerick brothers whose online payments company is now worth €5bn have been crowned IrelandÂ’s EY Entrepreneurs of the Year.
John and Patrick Collison - aged 23 and 25 respectively - were the big winners for the Silicon Valley-based Stripe at the gala awards ceremony in Dublin this evening.
They were among three cross-category winners - with Donald Fitzmaurice and Padraig McBridge taking the prize for Emerging business and Tyrone man Jack Dobson winning the Industry category for food giant Dunbia.
Mr Dobson says itÂ’'s a huge night for his family, and he was stunned with the award.
"I've been totally flabbergasted. Never, never expected this to happen at all," he said.
He wasn't even going to enter the competition until his son encouraged him to enter. "He encouraged me to go, so here I am tonight," he said.
