For a generation of kids (and parents) Christmas 2014 will be remembered as the Frozen Christmas. Demand for the toys is so strong that parents have been queuing overnight to get their hands on the merchandise - Gardaí were even called to a toy shop in Dublin last week as customers fought over Elsa dolls.

700+ - The number of pieces of Frozen merchandise that Walmart is stocking in the United States going into the holiday season. Target are carrying 600 Frozen products, and Toys 'R' Us have 300. Toymaster in Dublin and they are stocking 25 Frozen toys.

€44.99 - The retail price of a Snow Glow Elsa doll - the 'it toy' this Christmas. Disney's toy people thought that her sister Princess Anna would be the big seller. They made a similar mistake in 1995 when they believed Woddy would be Toy Story's big seller, but kids went for space ranger Buzz Lightyear instead, leading to Elsa-style Christmas shortages.

1 or 2 - Toymaster started stocking Snow Glow Elsa in the middle of the summer, and were only selling one or two dolls every week until demand spiked in mid-September. Since then they have been like gold dust.

The Irish retailer told Newstalk that it is still unsure if it will be getting more dolls in before Christmas - it is likely that re-stocking US retailers will be the first priority for the toy's manufacturer, Mattel.

€500 - One chancer advertised the doll for €500 on the Irish website DoneDeal.ie.

$1 billion - Toy merchandise from the record-smashing franchise is expected to gross more than $1 billion this Christmas in the US alone.

3 million+ - The number of Elsa and Anna costumes that Disney has sold.

30-foot-tall - A chain of shopping malls across the US have replaced Santa's grotto with giant Frozen Palaces for him to sit in - even the big-man is taking second-place this Christmas.

11 years - The National Retail Federation's Holiday Top Toys Survey in the US has been analysing Christmas toy sales for 11 years - 2014 will be the first year a Barbie product is not the top selling 'toy for girls' - Elsa has stolen her plastic crown.

1 - Frozen is Disney's biggest animated film,a title previously held by Toy Story 3. Looking at the bigger-picture it is currently the 18th highest grossing film of all time.

A few - When Newstalk's Henry McKean went to the Christmas Toy Show in the RDS, he was told that they have received a very small delivery of Elsa dolls. They are handing out tickets to everyone who attends the show and raffling them off at the end of the week - the show runs until November 30th.
