The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says employment could be lost in Ireland if the voters pick a different government.

He was speaking at the Trinity Economic Forum yesterday.

Mr Bruton says the government is only midway through its programme of trying to restore the economy.

And he says it is important to stick with the current model, so that the most recent jobs are secured forever.

It comes after Mr Bruton admitted earlier this week that some regions "need to do better" when it comes to employment growth.

He was speaking at the launch of the government's new Regional Action Plan for Jobs.

It will see €250m spent over five years - with €150m going to the IDA to develop infrastructure to attract companies to regions outside of the urban centres.
