Volkswagen's emission scandal is set to cost the company a further $1bn (€960,000) in the US.
This pay-out relates to 80,000 3-litre VW, Audi, and Porsche vehicles.
The ruling said that this will result in repairs being carried out on these vehicles and that their owners will receive "substantial compensation."
In June, the German company agreed to pay a $15bn (€14.4bn) settlement for another 475,000 vehicles which were programmed to cheat tests.

Consumers will soon have access to information showing which operators provide the best mobile phone coverage in their area.
The Government's Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce has recommended that a map of the quality of coverage used by companies - be made public.
According to The Irish Times it's set to be published by ComReg and will help costumers decided on which provider to choose.
The recommendations include asking the Advertising Standards Authority to prevent companies claiming they have faster speeds than those available.

New figures from eBay state that Irish shoppers are spending less on Christmas presents this year.
It's Christmas shopping survey found that the average person will spend €270 on gifts - that's down from €296 last year.
Waterford comes out as the most generous county this year with a whopping average spend of €335 per person while the people of Monaghan are predicted to spend the least at €211 per person.

Strikes by British airport staff this week have been called off.
Baggage handlers and check-in staff at 18 airports were due to walk out on Friday and Saturday because of a pay dispute.
