There has been a slight fall in the number of people on the Live register. The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show a fall of 1,600 people in the numbers signing on in May.
The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 11.8%.
In unadjusted terms, there were 388,764 people signing on the Live Register in May - which is an annual decrease of 32,973, or 7.8%.
The Register saw a fall of 1,000 men and 500 women last month.
The number of male claimants decreased by 26,507 in the year to May, while female claimants dropped by 6,466.
While the number of long-term claimants in May 2014 was at 183,370. The number of men in this category decreased by 9,652 across the year - but the number of women who are long-term unemployed actually rose by 1,025.
However this still represents an overall annual decrease of nearly 9,000 in the number of long term claimants.
