I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I believe traditional TV is on the way out. We are all busy beings and crave content on-demand. While Netflix are the giants in this space, there are alternatives. Here’s a quick rundown on what’s out there and what they have to offer.
Mubi
Mubi is a subscription service which provides a curated movie offering. A new title is selected by the Mubi team and added every day. It is then available to view for 30 days. There’s such a wide selection of movies to choose from and there are options for subscription length too; monthly or annual. There is a free trial period, which gives users a chance to see if they like it or not.
Google Movies
This is a great service and a good stepping stone for those who don't feel quite ready for a monthly subscription. Users can either buy or rent the latest movies from Google. If you opt to rent a movie you simply click, pay and watch. It will remain on your device for 24 hours. If you opt to buy a movie, it's yours. The file is accessible to you forever.
iTunes
Apple is the one-stop shop for most sources of entertainment these days. Users with an iTunes account can access new movies to rent or buy. Renting gives users 30 days to watch the film as many times as they wish during that period. It's also possible to pre-order films too.
