Dubliners are being asked to get outside and be the authors of their own real-time guide to the city.

There will be a roving team of 'human pins' at hotspots around the capital, as chosen by people on Twitter using #OpenYourDublin.

It is part of a global campaign by Heineken, which encourages people to discover a different side of their city.

The 'Cities of the World' campaign will be running over the next three days, and will allow Dubliners to compile a crowd-sourced guide to the capital.

The tweet-prompted guide will see the 20 'human pins' deployed wherever social media activity determines the best bits of Dublin are.

Businesses that are 'pinned' are being encouraged to retain their title - with the successful ones winning a 'Heineken Real-Time City Guide' accolade.
