CSO shows near-flat growth for economy

New figures from the CSO paint a picture of a largely flat economy.

They show that between July and September there was GDP growth of 0.2%.

But when the profits of multinationals are stripped out the figures show that the domestic economy contracted by 0.4%.

There were increases in distribution, transport, software and communications.

But there were sharp falls in other areas of the economy including industry, building, and agriculture.

Economist Dermot O'Leary is from Goodbody.

He says there are some positive signs for the economy.
