A status yellow wind warning covering the entire country comes as winds reaching 65km/h, with gusts of 110 km/h, are expected tonight and for some time tomorrow. The west coast will face the strongest winds.

There is also a rainfall warning in effect for west Munster, Connacht and Donegal. Heavy rain is expected overnight and on Tuesday morning, with rainfall of 30 to 40mm expected in those areas, and possibly even more on high ground.

There is a further status yellow warning for much of the western and southern coasts, with a combination of strong onshore winds, high tides and heavy rain bringing an increased risk of flooding overnight and tomorrow morning to exposed coastal areas in Wexford, Waterford, Kerry, Cork, Clare, Mayo and Galway.
