Uber and Hailo offering free rides to polling stations for #MarRef

Competing taxi-booking apps, Uber and Hailo, are both offering free journeys to and from the polling stations for this Friday's marriage equality and presidential age referendum.

Uber has come out in support of the gay marriage referendum while Hailo has also pledged its support behind the yes vote in the referendum and have a 'rainbow taxi' roaming the streets of Ireland.

Uber is offering free trips to and from the polls to the value of €15 by using the promo code Uber4Equality. For more information on how to avail of the offer click here.

Hailo are also offering a similar service, with taxis to the polls with a credit of €15. You can sign up to Hailo's pre-book offer here.

Hailo's free taxis are being offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 22nd while Uber's service runs from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday's referendum will see voters asked whether or not to allow the legalisation of gay marriage and whether or not the presidential age should be lowered from 35 to 21. Voting will be open this Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
