Two men have been arrested after a significant quantity of drugs was seized in north Dublin.
Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau seized the drugs and arrested two men in the operation on Wednesday.
It was part of ongoing investigations targeting serious organised criminal activity in the Dublin region.
Two cars were stopped in the Drumcondra area of Dublin this morning.
During the course of searching these cars, approximately five kilos of cannabis herb was seized.
Two men, aged 25 and 30. were arrested at the scene.
They are currently being detained at Finglas garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996.
In a follow up operation, a search was conducted at an address in Drumcondra and a significant amount of drugs was seized.
This included cocaine, heroin, cannabis herb, cannabis resin and ecstasy tablets, along with drug packaging and mixing paraphernalia.
Gardaí say the total amount of drugs seized was in excess of €2.8m.
Investigations are continuing.
