Irish Water say efforts are continuing to restore supply to customers after a water main burst.
The incident has affected parts of Louth and Meath.
The main supplies water to customers from the Staleen Water Treatment Plant on the Dublin Road and North Quay area of Drogheda.
Thousands of people are thought to be without water.
The firm says repairs have "proven to be more difficult than at first anticipated."
It says crews have been working on the site since early Friday morning.
"The burst is located over four metres underground and requires a complex repair", it adds.
Irish Water say it is also working with Louth County Council to implement water contingency plans.
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital remains supplied with water, and a rationing plan for the town has been activated.
In response to the ongoing shortages, large tankers are being used to bring treated water in from neighbouring areas - such as Collon and Tullyallen.
This water is being delivered directly into the water network to increase available water for a rotating water roster.
Temporary water stations are also being deployed at the following locations:
- Stameen on the Dublin Road
- Termonabbey
- Marleys Lane
- Bothar Brugha or Hardmans Gardens
- Ballsgrove shops
- Shop St North Quay
