If you're an online believer, then you already know that The Pope is not averse to technology.

He can be found on Twitter with his official account @Pontifex - which already has close to 9 million followers - as well as a Pope Francis public page on Facebook, with close to 2 million likes.

Earlier today though, the Pope announced via one of his social mediums that he would be joining yet another.

I am beginning a new journey, on Instagram, to walk with you along the path of mercy and the tenderness of God.
