The Taoiseach has expressed his disappointment at the delay in Ibrahim Halawa's release to the Egyptian President.

In a 25 minute phone call Leo Varadkar made it clear to President Al-Sisi that his priority was to secure Ibrahim's return as soon as possible.

21 year old Ibrahim Halawa's been in prison in Cairo for more than four years after being arrested during a political protest.

A verdict in his case has been delayed for another three week's, Amnesty International says it's like ‘groundhog day’ for the Dubliner.

The Egyptian President has previously promised to return Ibrahim home to Dublin once a verdict is delivered.

Ibrahim’s sister Somaia says the family are heart broken by the adjournment and that it’s truly upsetting to constantly have their hopes shattered into a million pieces.
