Arnotts has announced a new collaboration with the National Botanic Gardens and visual artist Maser.

They want to bring the outdoors indoors with their 'The City is My Garden' concept which will be rolled out from 4th May until mid-June.

It will inspire installations in the north Dublin Department store and its window displays. It hopes to create "an urban garden and educate customers on all aspects of the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, including sustainability facts, whilst incorporating floral fashion elements to create an outstanding must-see visual display."

Maser's mural is described as the "first outdoor representation of his latest 'botanical' works," on the side of 1 Liffey Street.

Commenting on the project Maser said, "Coincidentally I've been doing some research for the past few months on botanics and their role and effect on us. Primarily out of interest, but it has led me to understand the importance of certain plants, in regards to our health, mental health, sleep, anxiety etc.

"It has naturally brought me to the National Botanical Gardens to take photos of the plants I've found of interest," he added.

This series will include work on canvas, prints, and the Liffey St mural.

"When we were planning our Summer concept, I really wanted to try to capture some of the beauty of the city from its many beautiful parks and gardens to raw urban street art. There are so many amazing sites and experiences in Dublin city centre, so we wanted to showcase some of them within Arnotts to celebrate the Summer in the city," Damien Byrne, Arnotts head of creative said.

Arnotts will give small complimentary envelopes of sunflower seeds to customers.

Scrumdiddly’s pop-up ice cream shop will also make a return to the Arnotts Henry Street windows.
