Its load factor was 94% - meaning that for every 100 seats listed for sale 94 were sold.

In the year to the end of March, the company carried 120 million customers, that's 13% more than it did during the first quarter of 2016.

Ryanairs Kenny Jacobs noted that March traffic was, "impacted by the cancellation of over 530 flights due to repeated ATC and some handling strikes, which cut our traffic by approximately 100,000 customers."

He also renewed calls for the French Government and European Commission to take action to avoid future flight disruption.

The company's chief executive recently joined Yate's on Sunday, he discussed Ireland's on-going bus strike and Brexit, and a whole lot more.

Ryanair recently announced a string of new 2017 routes, including flights from Dublin to Valencia, Naples, and Tours.

Last year it carried 106 million passengers and generated full year profits of €1,242m - that was 43% higher than 2015.
