A double earthquake in Ecuador has killed at least one person and injured 85 others.
Two powerful tremors within hours of each other have hit the south American country.
The US Geographical Survey reports the first of quakes measured 6.7, while the second quake 11 hours later had a magnitude of 6.8.
Reuters reports the epicentre of the first quake, which hit during the night, was near the fishing village of Mompiche on the Pacific coast - around 368 km from the capital Quito.
Last month, almost 700 people were killed in a quake in Ecuador. A 33-year-old nun from Co Derry, Sister Clare Theresa Crockett, was among those who died.
The 7.8 magnitude tremor left thousands of others injured.
