A new hydro-electric power station is to be built at a disused mine in Co Tipperary.
The €650 million euro project is being built at Silvermines and will generate enough power for 200,000 households.
It is hoped the facility will be operational by 2022.
400 jobs will be created during the construction phase, with fifty full-time jobs at the plant when it is operational.
It will be the second plant of this type in the country, along with the ESB's Turlough Hill facility in County Wicklow.
Conor Gilligan is the Managing Director at Roadbridge - one of the company's involved in the project. He outlines the costs associated with the development.
