Plans have been announced for a new power station in Mayo.
Mayo Renewable Power, with equity from US investment firm Weichert Enterprise, is to construct a 24 megawatt biomass plant at a cost of €180m in Killala.
The project is being financed by Ulster Bank, AIB and Barclays and is expected to be up and running by 2017.
The company says 350 jobs will be created during the two-year construction phase, which will begin this month.
30 full time positions are expected once it is fully-operational, along with another 100 jobs in ancillary services like harvesting and transport.
When completed, it will be the largest biomass power station in the country.
