Gardaí have launched a murder investigation after the suspicious death of a man in Waterford yesterday. 

The body of 48 year-old Abdi Rasheed Kaaheen Shire, a Somali National who had lived in the Waterford City area, was discovered at an apartment on Wellington Street at around 9.20am yesterday. 

A post mortem examination has been carried out, but Gardaí say they are not releasing details for operational reasons.
